too right Steph, its still a wobblin so alls good They are mixed colours so it will be a surprise No action with the others yet. Im thinking the incubator has been running a bit too cool. I have erred on the cool side instead of losing the eggs if it the temp gets a bit too warm. It usually sits just under 100, but creeps down a bit at night when the temp goes down. I need a fan definately and a room with aircon

I know what you mean. Its been pretty darn hot out here today and I've been watching the bator temp like a hawk lol. Am managing to keep it reasonably stable around the 100 mark. Thankfully it looks like the weather is staying coolish (for this time of year anyway) for the next week so I'm pleased about that. I just want the really hot weather to hold off for a couple more weeks til this last batch in the bator has hatched.

Yeah, well I was telling my old Silkie Mum about youse lot buying eggs and incubating them and she pushes her chicks to one side and says "Whatytalkinabout? Can't these silly old hens lay their own eggs and hatch 'em themselves?" And I says "Maybe they don't have roosters" and she says "Yeah, well I cn relate to that. We could all do with a few less of them around, except they come in useful if you get a bit clucky or somethin. But what's this incuthingy about exactly?" So I explain it s a sort of warm box and they put the eggs in it, and she says that's funny. her eggs come out of hers and I says "No, that's not what I mean" and she looks at me pittyingly and says "Look ducky, I know I'm an old chook, but don't you ever put me in a box and warm it up" and I look at the oven and says "I'm thinking about it Silkie, I'm thinking about it!"
