They were due today right? Dont worry, its early days yet they might just be a little late. I always seem to have a couple that insist on taking a bit longer than usual to hatch. I think they do it on purpose just to stress us out lol You could candle them and see if you can see any movement.

Hi Steph, I think I'll give it till Friday before I candle it. I just realised when you said they are due today that its Wednesday no Thursday!! Im on holidays so thats my excuse lol Im still feeling optimistic. Its just that with the duck eggs, I saw them moving about and heard cheeping. I did read someones post on a thread in BYP that they never see anything jiggling or hear any cheeping prior to hatching, so that made me feel better. I will definately keep you guys posted as soon as anything happens, Im turning into a serial chook blogger

Lol theres no harm in that. I find it interesting reading about other people experiences My two little saxony ducklings have both now hatched, they did alot of cheeping before they hatched. I had to take them from under the broody hen and put in the bator to keep a closer eye on them because they were having troubles. I had candled the eggs the night before I took them from the hen and could see the end of their little bills wriggling around in the air sac. Theyre still very weak but slowly improving so maybe theres hope yet

Good to hear Steph, I am amazed at the ability of ducklings to make it.

The younger of the two ducklings has really improved this morning. I decided to try putting her back under the broody hen, I normally do that at night but thought I'd give it a go during the day because shes a good hen. Mum seems to have accepted the duckling and the little BEI duckling is so excited to have a new friend lol. Shes tearing around trying to get the other duckling to run with her and nuzzling it. So sweet The 3rd duckling is still quite weak, it cant stand up properly and seems to have curled toes. So will have to do some research on that one and try to fix her up. Anyone had to fix this problem before? Fluffy, I candled those Silkie eggs from D Gregory last night and saw development in 11 out of the 12 eggs! I was thrilled Great fertility, but it also goes to show what a difference that extra packing makes.

Steph great to hear about the little one. Great picture you give. I am very impressed with Daves eggs too, 100% fertility again with mine. I have two quitters at the moment, but the rest are looking good. If I am wanting eggs again I would have no problem with getting them from him again. Roll on Christmas day, I am really hoping they are not late this time I once again I have two broody hens to be mums to them. Timing is just perfect, except I was going to sell these two...lol, oh well always next time.

Hehe what a lovely chrissie pressie that will be for you. My first couple of dozen in the bator are due on the 27th. Im thrilled to report that the 3rd little duckling has made a remarkable recovery today. She had been in the bator sitting on the wire floor, then late this morning I put her into an old chinese takeaway container with some non slip matting in the bottom. When I put her in there she still couldnt even stand up, she just layed on her side or struggled to stand and fell on her back. I checked her about an hour later to give her a drink and when I opened the bator lid she was standing up I gave her a drink, popped her back in the container, closed the lid and a few seconds later I hear some rattling and look in the top to see the little bugger has jumped out of the container and is running around on top of the eggs. I could not believe that this was the same duckling that an hour ago could not stand up. So I took her down to the stables and gave her to mumma chook, where she promptly ran around the brooder chasing after the BEI duckling lol. The happy lil family:

Thats great to hear wendy. I reckon sometimes it is better if we're busy on hatch day or cant be home because otherwise we (well I know I do) spend all day checking on the eggs and getting anxious and impatient lol. Hopefully you'll have a surprise or two waiting for you when you get home
