Thank you for your offer but I am more than happy with the 6 in brooder. I have no complaints about the fertility rate or hatch rate, just very happy that I ended up with a few chicks. They have been entertaining me and the kids since they hatched. That is the important thing, not the numbers.

Yes it gets addictive others just don't understand , I shifted mine into the hatching tray today , threw out 19 that had died since last checking So have 55 in the hatcher 9 of them Andalusian due out Wednesday but always find they start day 20 here. When I had aruancanas they used to hatch early too on day 18 / 19 .but my pekins took 20 days.

4 sure Chooky... with the Pigeons & Chooks ... it keep me amused & busy as I need to be... & one Daughter just rang, as have to go harvest a swarm of bees at her place!.. first up tomorrow... so theirs always plenty to do...:-) :-)

Just noticed that one of the light sussex chicks have feathered legs ..... interesting. Not heavy feathering but clearly visible.

17 eggs into the hatchers today, it started of as 20 but 3 were infertile. Not happy with the development of one of the eggs but will see how it goes they are due to hatch Friday.

Australian Langshans still getting the numbers up, another 20 eggs due in just over two weeks and that's it for the first two pens. The roosters will be swapped over in about three weeks time and it will start all over again, that gives me four breeding pens for the season, and hopefully some good stock to choose from for next breeding season and next years shows.
