75% plus is not to bad especially when a large number of eggs are involved.

Agree with feather foot...75% +..... is VERY GOOD.... start with 40 eggs... & finish up with 30 healthy chickens ... one should be more then happy.... going to pick up turkey eggs today... maybe 40 eggs...red & white turkeys... that's the plan. As have Grandson had sleepover with pop, as he's plan will pick them up & set to going today...:-) :-) :-) ...

I had started with 88 eggs in tho so just under 50% but given the year plus some eggs had travelled it is Ok I really should have padded them but`never have the time to do that. anyway with with the other 35 from the previous hatch and some older growers plenty for now.

Always good to have a project to work on.
I have two broody hens sitting on cross breed eggs at the moment. There's going to be a population explosion here in the coming weeks. Love the sight of mum and chicks.

Agree... it's great to see... ones bought out with incubator... are all misfits... & takes forever for them to settle...some don't!... fact.. in the old days would tie clucky hen in with incubator births... remember once hen has 26 Chicks ... only a third of them where hers!... but great to watch...:-) :-)
