yeah i'm from down south , a friend and i have been looking for silkies since last year sumtime , i managed to track down a rooster and got given a hen from a friend of mine , and we have about 5 chicks ea in our brooders , so can only hope we get a couple of hens outta them , but they are very hard to cum by , i have mates in perth with a couple but not enough to sell me a couple unfortunately

I notice all these posts are from 2008 has anyone been to the auctions recently? and are they still held every 1st and 3rd thursday of the month? Where exactly are they held in Mundijong?

I posted a lot of info back in the new members lounge.
To get there you need to take the mundijong turn off off the freeway and keep driving until you meet the railway line in mundijong. Go over the railway line and then keep going about 500m, take the first turing on your left (roman road I think) you will see a small board advertsing the auction. Follow this road for about a mile - it is single track and goes around in a loop - then you will see the market.
I always take a cardboard box and some water with me incase I pick up something that doesn't come with a cage, obviously water for the chooks.

You are right the auction is on the 1st & 3rd Wednesday of the moth They sell everything and I mean EVERYTHING, The poultry is last to be auctioned...usually about lunch time . That also depends on what other stuff there is. If you are planning to sell it is best to get ther early so you can get a good spot for your birds. It is a great day out and people come from everywhere
