;D ;DHere are the photo's so far. The first one was yellow and it looked very tired when I got out of bed this morning. The black one has only just hatched and is much more active. They are knocking the other eggs around. Is that ok? Also should I have put some paper towel over the grate so they don't get their legs caught?

You should try not to open the incubator during hatching, as this drops the humidity and makes it difficult for the rest of the chicks to hatch. Very cute chicks Congratulations

We've now got another yellow one. Will try and keep it shut now.

Well done, sorry we did not mention it, but for the last three days it is recommended to 'leave the lid on' until the hatch is finished. This is not always possible so don't stress if you can't, but be as quick as possible.

I only opened it to top up the water in the last few days and the photo's were superquick, one person lifted lid and I took the photo. Will TRY and be good now.

We are up to 6 now and all are fluffy up nicely. 3 have pipped and 1 hasn't done anything. When shall I put them into the brooder? Tonight or in the morning?

Some people wait until the hatch is over. The chicks do not need any food or water for about 24 hours. I personally wait until they have dried and fluffed up a bit which is usually a few hours (sometimes less) as space is usually a premium.

The poor eggs that are left in there are getting knocked all over the place. Might start up the brooder and once the temps right, put them in. I keep thinking they must be thirsty in such a hot environment. Thanks tina.

You must be very pleased with your results. I lost 2 in the last couple of days of my hatch, I candled them at day 18 and they were fine, candled them last night and they were gone. So I am just waiting for my last one to finish.
