I looked out for you ducky, but we did not stay long and I saw Pip,, he looked gorgeous and he had one bid on him when we left. Those saxony's where lovely too. Shame the silkies we saw where not what we were looking for. I was tempted by one pen that had a blue pekin in it, but saw reason and walked away...lol (no room....lol) Did you buy anything?

There was muscoveys and a few ducklings, isa browns, leghorns, spangled hamburgs, wyandottes, malay game, light sussex, old english game, pekins and silkie/pekin crosses, rock plymouth, cormation (was written on tag but not sure if spelt right), pekin ducks, canaries, polish somethings, aracunas (again not sure on spelling), silkies, bantom saxonies and a dark campbell drake which was duckies. Thats all I really remember although I know there was more.

We were in and out all morning so you may have missed us. *Sigh* it gets more and more tempting to buy something everytime! The frizzles looked great and there was an Australorp. If there was more choice with that breed we may have bid on one. I was happy to see that this time a lot of the ducks looked healthy and perky instead of sick looking.

my missus wanted a couple of red hens so I ended up with 2 gold wyandottes. there were 2 pairs of white crested black polish, a pair of corination sussex, not many hens or pullets there own unless you wanted isa browns, heaps of pairs or roosters. i was after silver wyandottes but there was only 2 pairs but i dont need any more roosters. the saxony duck looked good. oh and dont forget there was also canaries.

Sorry lazym, I did not stay for the end so I don't know how prices went. But the starting prices where pretty good. I must admit I was hoping for more birds up for auction, there was a lot of empty pens, but there was approx 100. This is a wild guess, maybe ducky can add something. There was some game birds, but I didn't take that much notice of which type. I did notice a Malay though. Put it this way, I don't think I would go again as it was a big trip for me unless I really knew that there was going to be more of what I was after and better quality at that. The silkies where either crosses or nothing I would recommend. But if you were after wyandottes, isa browns, light sussex there was a good selection, not that I am a judge of quality in these birds, but they looked good.

Who else will be going to the show? And what birds will you bring? Its a very long drive for me so Im not sure if I will come but it might be nice to see all your birds in person. Photos dont do them justice sometimes.

I am definately going Shelle and so is Judy I think. But I wont be brining any birds. The only ones I have that are old enough are my Pekin boys but as I have never shown before I want to go learn some ropes. I hope you and Tina can make it. I am taking my Mum and Making a weekend of it

Well I know mum will take little convincing lol. Ill definately do my best to come but wont know till closer to the date. I am a little scared of showing birds due to one of my ducks dying after a show. I purchased him a week or so after he won the royal show and he went downhill from there. The vet said it was most likely due to all the stress of caging and moving him but I also wonder if he might have caught something from the other birds. So I really dont know if I would ever consider showing. Has anybody else had any problems showing their birds?

Oh that's bad news Shelle. I would also be a little concerned about that....You never know what little nasties may be lurking and as it is coming up to colder weather the incedence of respitory deseases will be on the increase...So I will definately need some convincing to enter any of my babies.
