what a start 20 duck eggs all DIS from the bator then the second lot of Silver grey dorking dead one lot under a hen she killed them all and the other lot in the bator again DIS [ dead in shell ]i have filled it up again with a breed [ Brahmas ] I have tried to get hold of for a long time with out having to fly them from the east only 16 days to go fingers crossed 24 in the bator hope we get better luck this time
chooky bator seems to get high humidity goes from 42 up to 72 with out any extra water being added any ideas anyone this is the only fault I can find with it the temp is stable at 37.3 dose not move until i lift up the lid

Unusual for humidity to spike without additional water.
I tend to keep humidity at a minimum, even incubating without water, all throughout the 21 days.
I used to increase humidity during lockdown. This tends to make the chicks extremely tired after hatching and takes a long time to dry out. The chicks hatch looking stronger and dry out much faster at lower humidity.
Sorry to hear that news Chooky nasty stuff cancer. Not sure what is around at the moment haven't been looking. I had only 1 Australorp fertile a couple of Barnevelder fertile and same with RIR yet the others had good fertility in When I candled them the other day I may have a few Andalusians only 1 of those not fertile the Wellsummers were to had to see in Yet I could see in the marans eggs
