Hi everyone, I've been a member for a while and enjoy reading all your posts so thought i'd say hello. My names Steph and I live in Toodyay. I breed Silkies, Pekins, Frizzled Pekins, Bantam Saxony & Black East Indies ducks. I also have guinea fowl and some laying hens. Have got 7 lil frizzled pekin chickies in the brooder at the moment, so cute! Looks like theres 3 gals n 4 boys so not bad odds i guess My latest project is building a laying hen pen, which was supposed to be a straight forward project but is fast becoming a 5 star chookie resort lol Its great to have a local forum for us WA chook lovers ;D

Hi Steph, welcome to this great site. Would love to see pictures of the resort and your brood. I see you have Saxony bantam ducks, do you have fertile eggs for sale or ducklings? I know a lady who is desperate for them. She had all her ducks killed by dogs and only has drakes.

Hi Steph, yes that is Redchook. My Silkies are white and a mix of colours. Mainly dark colours with bits of either grey or brown/black. I have pictures on this site somewhere. I will find the thread and let you know so you can see for your self

Youre very lucky to have a blue silkie, theyre so hard to come by. I and Im sure a few others on here would love to buy some off you when you breed some Do you have any bearded silkies? I've only got the one bearded hen atm and am currently on the lookout for a show quality bearded roo for breeding. I managed to get a pic of the frizzled chickies today, not the best pic as they all huddled in the corner once the flash had gone off but i'll post it anyway. There are 4 frizzle feathered and 3 smooth feathered. Heres a pic of their dad Frankie, so you can see what they look like when theyre older

To create more blue I will have to breed one of my splash when they are old enough with my black. That creates blue. Might breed some splash also, they look very cute. I will definitely be selling the eggs and chicks when mine start laying so keep an eye out in 5 mths time.
