the Duck eggs I am hatching for someone I have 8 definite starters you can see the veins real clear but I am having a few issues with the R-com lucky I have the onyle as well its hatching good healthy chicks as I type.

What breed ducks are you hatching CK?

i have not hatched a chick in the new bator yet out of three dozen eggs ? i have a cheese thermometer and made shure that the temp was correct and that has not moved so who can tell i will keep you posted what ducks have you got chooky

Trev,
I don't think your incubator is at fault if the temp is stable. Could there been a period when the temp dropped? That may slow down development.
I have a trio of Pekin ducks. We use them mainly for eggs. They are beautiful poached. But I may be getting rid of them because they mess up the pen and the drake is constantly chasing the hens and pullets. I will decide after I have completed the new pens.

they are Pekins , I was given these eggs to give to the person who bought them with out even letting me know then after 2 days without them coming to pick them up I rang them to see what the .... was going on so I stuck them in my R-com I have loaded the rest up with chicken eggs tonight tomorrow I will put another 6 dozen in the onyle tomorrow . I will leave some room incase I get some extra eggs sent to me.

They are interesting birds but they do make a mess.

we did have a short power out one day less than half an hour that should not make any difference to it the temp should have stayed ok for that amount of time this is the only thing i can think of I have just had another loot Nothing happening yet thats it for tonight i will look again tomorrow there is a lady about 25 kms away from me that has a duck on eggs no one know what they are I think they were piking ducks that won the top prize in the show a couple of years ago she just says that there prize winning stock of ducks i may investigate a bit further and start again I still have the Welsummer eggs on there way around the 17th i was hoping that i could trust the bator by then trial and error boy i love the little Silkys Trev

one day late still no showing i will leave them for another day then break them to see whats inside i feel if anything was going to happen it should be on the way by now i will have to have a look around for some others closer to me if thats at all posseble i do like ducks and its about time we had a few again Trev
