Australia post can be so frustrating. I had eggs delivered to me clearly marked fragile eggs. The postman threw the express post bag over the gate! I know this as when I picked it up it was three meters beyond the gate and had gravel rash marks on the express post bag! Get them delivered to work now as the postie there is great Let us know how they go Quambie think those dorkings are so pretty.

having them marked as fertile eggs is bad as there are some in there that use them as footballs.

Yes writing eggs on the package does seem to make people treat them badly! Of course when you order you don't like to tell people how to package and what not to write on the bag it's a bit rude! V Congrats on the new arrivals qambie. Saw my first dorking last week and they are a beautiful colour. Good luck with them

I have been exchanging eggs this year with a mate in rural QLD. So far all good, we never write fragile or eggs on the bag, we just put the details clearly there and post them off on a Monday, they always arrive on the Wednesday. Im getting great success from the eggs - mostly 100% fertility, but around 80% hatch so far. He has done a little better with some of mine as he uses broody hens instead of incubators.
