I have hatched some light sussex and Australorps together and 1 has come out grey, I think it could be a Light Sussex, Is it just a throw back to times gone by and destined for the pot or is it a desirable colour variant? It is very strong and healthy.

I will hang on to it then and see how it shapes up over the next few weeks. I was thinking more sussex as it is more fluffy than the other Australorps and is first into the food like the sussex chicks. You guys would no more than me though. I did see a blue chick recently in with someone elses chicks and it was very similar. How rare are they?
