Got to love this rain we have just had about 15 mill the largest amount we have had all winter in one go, the total for the year is still low thought at just 108 mill all up. we should get around the 380 mill mark We have an avenue of trees along the road where we live and they need a good drink this will help them as its the third year on the trot we have had low rainfall I would hate to loose them Trev

It is good rain. Nothing is better for the vegie garden. Our tomatoes are starting to take off.

Our mulbarries pretty much belong to the birds. We get the leftovers. I love them on vanilla ice cream.

I made the decision to net the entire orchard when I started its just pure greed I water the trees I want what comes off them half the time they just take a small bit out of the fruit or chomp the branch off if it were a main food for them I would look at it differently Trev

Trev,
Do you net each individual tree or a single net over the whole orchard? Our trees are mature trees. And they are scattered all over the place. Looks like I'll have to net them individually. Lots of prunning first in autumn, I think as they are big.

HI Chooky I have them on one large orchard an old full sized tennis court an old guy up the road from me has his trees like you have yours and he uses agricultural pipe in a cross and the net over the top of them he keeps them at above head height if you can pick it its high enough he tells me seems to work for him Trev

Its not bad ey Trev, we've had 36mm here in the last 3 days. October last year we only got 2mm of rain compared with 80mm so far this October! The old gumboots have had a good workout this winter/spring
