Hi I am rebecca
I live on a decent amount of land in Neerabup and want to share it with some chooks
I have put a wanted add in the equipment section as I am looking for a coop aswell.
But I was wondering if there would be someone willing to volunteer there time to maybe come and check out some hens with me. I saw a coop and chickens for sale in the quokka they got the hens at POL from Austral Hatchery in Feburary. I am not quite sure what breed they are but they are very regular egg layers I hear.
They home is in Lockeridge Morley area.

Hi Bec, welcome to WAP, if they got the pullets at POL they would have been approx 18-21 wks old and will either be Hy-lines or Isa Browns, (brown chooks) & as they purchased them from a commercial hatchery they will have at minimum been immunized against Mareks, and possibly IB as this is usually commenced at 2 wks old and then they give boosters every 8 wks while they have them, 2 questions I would ask them would be 1. why are they selling them so soon, and 2 is the coop fox proof for night time. Are you wanting them just to have fresh eggs or are you wanting pretty chooks as well, because these breeds are not what you would class as pretty but usually have quite a cheeky nature. Is it a chook tractor or is it an actual pen that you have to dismantle and rebuild. dont forget to let us know how you get on and if you have aby queries someone will more than likely be able to help. Good Luck
