:(It was sad Wendy but it wasn't one of yours is was a young rooster.Ross wasn't here to switch the sprinklers on and it was so hotpoor baby .Aurora and Chopin are well and happy .Aurora has just stopped laying and is moulting but she has been an amazing layer .Iv hatched 6 of her chicks and have a couple of her eggs under hens at the moment. She reckons shes a star and nothing will happen to her I think she needs to grow some feathers back as she is a little on the scruffy side at the moment (I dare not tell her)

Im glad it wasnt one of them, but its still sad I thought Aurore was a good little layer! I had heard bad things about the Polish, so Im thinking she is from a good egg laying line. She is a star! I just lost one of Chopin and Aurores last chicks to hatch here on the weekend A little pullet about 6 weeks old. I now have 3 cockerals and 1 pullet left in the "nursery" I think she had a respiratory infection. I gave her antibiotics and vitamins etc. But she didnt pull through. She was a keeper too. Lovely little thing. Always the way.

Anne, my girls want to know if they could use your son's wedding as a dress rehearsal they say they've been rehearsing long and hard enough to run it in front of an audience. I already told them it might not be appropriate, especially since they've just added another act: I was practicing "Hexenlied" by Mendelssohn this morning, it's all about witches, so now they've made themselves little brooms and are hopping (they call it flying ) around the garden singing the song at the top of their lungs.

I wish they could have all flown to Melbourne last week . ;D ;D My nephew also had a surprise wedding at his engagement party on the beach amongst the rocks it would have been the perfect setting . :oBut a am sure Andrew and Emma :owould be delighted ::)at having the extraordinary entertainment at their reception . Its in the swan valley so plenty of room .What better place for a rehearsal .Ill run it past the wedding party tonight . I know my birds will be up for it they have been on my computer while I was away ,finding songs and I dont know what else . ???A few empty pizza boxs hidden behind pens and the odd empty bottle of red . We dont eat pizza

I can tell you exactly how those pizza boxes got there!!!! I'm sorry to say my girls have been chatting with your lot on the internet and told them that you can order "Eagle Boy's" pizza over the internet Well, they didn't have to tell them twice, but the red wine was their own idea, I'm afraid... Anyway, that wine and pizza business is just part of my worries. I'm sorry to break this to you, but I've got the suspicion that some of those chooks don't stop at alcohol and fast food: I think there is cigarettes involved as well!!! I know this subject has been treated hush-hush on this forum, but if we want a family fun day it'll have to be smoke free! Next time you go to your chook pen, just look at your darling's feet - you'll notice some have suspiciously yellow legs, and the only time I've seen that before is with heavy smokers!! No wonder the fertility rate is so low at times!!! I'm not even talking about the fire hazard My ladies are no exception, I'm sure only Lili the light sussex doesn't smoke, probably because she is so busy eating that she hasn't got the time for those sort of things The wedding gig is on, but Ronja reckons they should rename Swan Valley to Chook Valley, as there are a lot more chooks than swans around, and anyway, chooks rule

ok, I do admit it, they were not just chatting, they actually had a few sleepovers they just loved it so much there, now I know why, but they were also talking about this really hot stripping turkey they had hired to put on a little show for them - that could not have been cheap might explain the credit card issue... Have you checked your medicine cupboard yet? Don't wanna worry you, but do have a look Last night that would have been my girls , they loved the witch song so much, I think they were gonna teach it to the others, and Grinch was gonna play the Beelzebub (if I may quote the second verse, in the english translation:"We all dance around Beelzebub and kiss his clawed hands. Ghosts in a swarm grab us by the arm and dance, swinging torches" - apparently Grinch is very happy with his role for obvious reasons ) I'm a bit worried because of the torch bit, so make sure you lock up all your matches and lighters

;D ;DShould have known it would be you girls Pianochook,I'm wondering if they had contacted anyone else's birds to .It was very loud out there .Turkey must have been a hit wolf whistles could be heard up and down the street. Yes !! well v been to the medicine chest and all sorts of things are missing or empty .The most interesting of all is the condies crystals .I'm wondering if any of your ladies have come home with Purple feathers or whether they are trying to conceal the yellow legs. Could be fluffychook's white silkies arrived home with purple top knots. ::)She could be cleaning them up as we speak.Or it could be her white frizzle rooster getting spruced up for the pencil auction

I'm glad you told me about the crystals, I would have been worried about those purple legs and Lili the light sussex is patchy all over, she reckons now she'd pass as a spangled hamburg - I just don't have the heart to tell her she's way too overweight and looks pretty ridiculous with her newly colored feathers. I'm a little cross, my girls had told me they were going to one of their book club nights, I had no idea "book" was meant as in singing loudly BOOK-BOOK and doing whatever they were doing last night

I have not had a chance to check on them today as I have been out all day. I will let you know.

Jacquie 8-)You probably .I sure you think that your chooks are sitting happily in their pens at night but we know better :-/Next time you hear then cackling and clucking just listen for the tune .They may be practicing for our concert.. LOL Well the wedding is tomorrow .Andrews bride to be's parents sounded a little shocked that the entertainment was a dress rehearsal ,I assured them that Piano chook had them all under control and it would be talked about for months . ;D ;D It didn't seem to settle them much especially as i told them of the witches on broom sticks and the leather -- lace and turkey act . I'm sure you are aware Pianochook ,They have invited the turkey along too.Apparently he is some entertainer Now girls make sure they all turn up on time .Iv arranged for corn and wheat to be supplyed to dressing rooms but the chook ablution block is by the stream not inside the buildings. This is a formal wedding so any who wish to go to the church first formal and Kilts or tartans are invited also for the ladies hats or fascinators ;D ;D

;D ;D Jacquie - well, you are quite obviously mad enough to read it Anne, Jacquie's birds actually ARE sitting in their pens at night at long last, don't you remember, they were the one's who got arrested the other week at the bowling ground for trying to sell illegal drugs can't have that! sorry to say, I'm glad they're off the street They were not much into tunes, anyway, more into gangsta rap NOW: please assure Emma's parents, "control" is my middle name, people are usually paying me good money to whip them into tip-top shape, I'm REALLY good at that ;D (just disregard the fact that my own girls keep running a muck, will you, please? ) As for the concerns about the program, you just didn't sell it very well: of course they are hopping around in a circle on broomsticks and kiss Grinche's claws, but at the same time they are singing a masterpiece of music - if it can be presented in a serious concert www.youtube.com/watch#!v=jrvByLfGlJE&feature=related (no, it 's not me, in case you're wondering ;D) than even more as a staged version at a wedding, no problem there. In fact, it's much more challenging and interesting, and for that reason I've invited ABC's Limelight Magazine journalists to review the performance. As for the leather and lace, tell them if they considered what directors get away with these days in modern opera productions, they should be happy that our chooks actually ARE wearing some sort of clothes I'll make sure we are all there with time to spare (the australorps have checked petrol, oil and tyres already), and I also will assure that the girls don't stop at some winery first to make certain purchases In regards to the dress code for the church, Lili scoffed at me and said she was one giant living fascinator, and she would not need anybody else's feathers to make her even more pretty, anyway, that would be humanly OR chookly impossible! I'm excited that we finally get to meet the turkey ! Thank goodness we can cut the unreliable owner and negotiate with him directly. ;D And, Anne, you better behave yourself!! I know you are very much turned on by bold poultry, but remember, you are the mother of the groom, and as such a person to be respected - you might wanna keep it that way! (Have a wonderful celebration and all the best for your son and his wife!!! ::)What are you giving them as a present? Some fertile eggs with little Grinches-to-be and a brand new Hovabator??! ;D ;D...and so the saga goes on, and on, and on.... ;D ;D)
