She doesn't sound well . ???Try Epsom's salts or molasses . Iv attached a link.bottom of the page msucares.com/poultry/diseases/solutions.htmlI use Epsom's salts and drop some of the mix down the throat .It sounds silly but you can mix a stronger solution and wash her bottom or her legs or back of the throat as it can be absorbed through the skin if she is not drinking. It dose sound like cocci but other things are possible What were her original symptom's and how old is she? Has she wormed recently? She is not egg bound is she ??

Sorry to hear about your sick chook. hope she has improved today....Have you tried force feeding her the water and medications...also is the mass inside her bottom or outside. Maybe she is eggbound

thanks for your sugestions, I ended up getting a enema from the chemist as her bum split and it was either that or to put her down she seems alot better, weather it was the sulphaquin or enema I dont know but she seems alot better, the lady at the chemist didnt seem surprised when I asked for a enema for a chook and explained that they used it on her pet lizard when it was egbound. Theother young girl their was a bit grosed out! Fuzzy runs like mad when she sees me but I didnt enjoy the process any more that she did.

My girl was sick for a month started of with dropped wings and pooey mum, she was walking around constantly straining, so I put her on sulphaquin for 2 days and she seemed better but I took her off because she got really constipated. I then gave her a enema and she seemed better, after 2 more weeks she still wasnt well so I put her on sulphaquin again thinking she needed a full dose,on day 5 I cleaned her bum like I do every week, she has sores on her bum, but she died in the process,I always worm once a month with advocate, moxydectin, is it dangerous to give 2 doses of sulphaquin together, any hints for next time

sorry to here that she died Donna. I don't think giving 2 doses of sulphquin in succession is a problem perhanps a probiotic would have also been an option
