This morning I went to check my buff orpington who is sitting on 2 of her eggs and 8 blue australorps eggs and to my surprise there was a yellow chick and a australorp chick. I have used an incubator only once and I spent a few hours sitting on a brick inside the small brooder area and i was spellbound watching mum show the chicks to eat and drink all while they were poking her. The natural way is lovely to see and I will try this method first next time. I will attempt to post pictures in a couple of days. Mum seems not bothered that I am so near by. What a great morning. It was worth being late for work! Cheers linda
