Thanks Lorina, yes I did have a great day. Went shopping and had lunch with my bestest buddy, had the family over for dinner. I did not cook, yay. Even had a wonderful storm just to top it off.

I found the aisles a bit cramped to have conversation with people as everytime you stopped someone was trying to get passed so I kept moving. Plus a bit shy to go up to someone and say " Hey I am fluffychook, who are you". Funny sounds easy when you type it...lol
As for the Silkies, I was bidding on a partridge pullet and a white rooster. I was able to see the people I was bidding against and felt sorry for the little girl with big tears in her eyes as her father told her he was not bidding any more for the partridge. I just didn't have the heart to go against her. (She won it, and had the biggest grin...well worth the sacrifice). I did win the white rooster and as my daughter was buying paid more than I was willing to bid. But he is gorgeous. I was able to buy a white pullet elsewhere, so I am very happy.
I will take some pics when the weather is kinder. They look a little like drowned rats with all this rain. My youngest daughter fell in love with a dark campbell drake and so we bid on him and won. Now we are trying to find a friend for him. Easier said than done. So if anyone knows of someone who has any I would love to speak with them. Tina

Glad to hear that you were able to get some chookens and a duck!!!. I know it can be a bit daunting going up to people that you haven't actually met before, I had met Lorina previously so its a lot easier when there are two of you. We will have to meet up before the next one so at least you will know me and I have now met a few more members so will be able to introduce you to them

Are these auctions held regularly? I've never been to one, but would love to!

Hi genuinesqueak, Clubs do hold auctions throughout the year. We now have a new board just on poultry show dates and auctions if you would like to have a look. Also at the top of the page is an icon called calender, this has all the shows etc for the rest of the year.
