Well I finally got around to getting some pics of the Pekin chicks Wendy! These were hatched from eggs purchased from Southern River. They're about 11wks old now. Wasnt the best day weather wise for taking piccies today so they're a little grubby. Cockerel #1 Pullet #1 Pullet #2 Cockerel #2. Will part with this fella, coz I cant keep everybody Cockerel & Pullet #3. Am gunna sell these 2 as a pair. And yes its not a Pekin but couldnt help posting a piccie. Isnt she gorgeous? ;D

Wow, nice ,mix of colours Steph. The cuckoo and blue red are like 2 of mine when they were the same age. Didnt get any pullets that look like your light coloured ones. Nice colours. My blue red roo has really gotten gorgeous now he's filled out. The red that started off patchy has now filled most of his upper body and the blue kinda pokes out from under it. I have to part with him unfortunately as you said you cant keep them all. His blues birds carry nice lacing which is really pretty. Love the Silkie, shes beautiful alright! Lovely fluffy crest and a beard! WOW! Well done and thanks for the piccies

Thanks guys I was so pleased to get a cuckoo Wendy. That pic of pullet #2 isnt a very good one but she's a lovely colour. She's cream with lavender hackles and some pale lavender lacing through her feathering. Dont know what that colour would be called, Jacquie? Or is it just a mish mash colour? She's blue Tina, all the chicks from my last Qld batch were dark blue, she was the only bearded though. And would you believe, out of the 5 chicks, 4 are definately pullets and the other one is still a 'could go either way' lol. So that was a good outcome Am gunna put a batch of qld eggs in the bator next week so hopefully I'll get a better mix of colours this time.

what a great outcome for you. My monitor shows her as a bit more brown that is why I asked. Looks like I have a very light blue bearded pullet from my last QLD batch. So happy with that, she will replace the one that was killed by our darling puppy.

Light blue bearded, thats great This girl is still a clean blue, fingers crossed she stays that way. One of the others has got red coming through so I wont keep her. Another has got quite a bit of silver coming through so I'll probably part with her too. Did you get any splash cockerels in your last batch?

No splash anything from my last batch. The closest is this very light blue girl, time will tell if she is a splash or not. And all of mine have been clean which is great. I have started getting my own blues now which is fantastic, no splash yet though. I have just filled up the incubator so hopefully there will be some splash in there.
