???Sometimes it takes a while .How old are the Pekins ,is there a big age difference . That could be a problem until the silkies are laying. My pekins had the biggest fight and carry on when I introduced new birds but did settle down at night and haven't been a problem since .I have 1 pen(australorps and hi lines) however that I cant add any new hens to they all attack any newcomer. Ilike the birds you got.I was up there today probably admired them. Annie

Those Pekins are fully grown so definately will be the boss of the Silkies. Once they sort it out, they will get along fine. Unless one of the Silkies is bleeding etc. just let them go, it will have to happen eventually if you want them to live together. If you see any blood at all, remove the chicken. I know that sounds pretty hard, but really, after a few hours they should be ok. You most likely wont have any bleeding, but if you do,a sprinkle of blue food dye on the wound will stop others pecking at it. Cheers, Wendy

Yes they will sort it out shortly and each time you remove them they have to start it all over again. If possible put the silkies in a cage within the pen so they get used to one another with some protection. Wire barrier would suffice too if a cage is not on hand.

That's good to hear. It's always a little stressfull when new birds are introduced to each other
