Their parents are white crested black Polish. Although coming from decent bloodlines, they both have faults with their crests. Mum, Aurore has a beautiful full globular shaped crest, but has not got enough white it it. Dad, Chopin has more white in his crest but it is not a nice full crest how it should be. So these Polish are a project for me to see if I can use the 2 to create some showable birds one day down the track. The chicky with the nice full white (yellow) crest now will hopefully keep this into adulthood. You never know, but the other 2 dont look like they will so I will find homes for them eventually with someone who wants to play like me.

Another bubs has hatched around 7am Its going to be an ongoing thing all season as Ive been putting Aurores eggs in as they come. She lays a few then has a week off etc. but I got one yesterday. None due till next week now. The ones born last week are now in with the Faverolles chicks. All fine,no worries now. Alan did it yesterday so we could put the new bub in the little brooder box. When I tried to put them in together a few days ago, there wasa bit of racism going on. the Favs are yellow and the Polish are black, so the Favs were picking at their feet and combs etc. After a while all of the Favs were fine with them, apart from 1 who just kept at them. So I ended up taking them out. Yesterday they were better, so their all happy together now.

I am overrun with chicks at the moment and my bator is about to be full again. I think the rain and cold have kept buyers at home, bring on the sunshine and they will all go overnight.

He wouldnt even allow me to pay for the postage! They are Blue pencilled bantam Wyandottes. A project hes working on. They just turned up today. I'll see if Judy wants to do a comp with them.
