hi guys, while in perth recently i managed to get some pekin ducklings that i have wanted for so long, got 7 ,had to keep the smallest 2 separated so they don't get squashed but all are doing well, i'm learning quickly about the differences between chooks and ducks.i also couldn't resist getting some more chooks, 2 or 3 turned into 6, they are mixed bunch about 3-4 weeks old.got them from liz in herne hill and had to control myself from getting more. going from 2 (my old girls) to 15(13 newbie's) is probably enough for now.

Make sure you keep them all nice and warm and give them lots of good food and vitamins in their water. At that age they are so susceptible to getting sick when they move to a new environment.

That's great. Good luck with your new additions. Good idea to give them a suplimnet to get them off to a good start.

What supplements are you suggesting Carolyn? I never gave any to my chicks nor have I given any to these new chicks - only Apple Cider Vinegar in their water and garlic in their water for the week leading up to the full moon. I feed them the chick crumble with coccidiosis stat in and give them egg custard from time to time with chives, garlic, dandelion and parsley in. Do I have to leave off eating the eggs that have been laid from the hen that has been eating the chick crumble for a week after her last meal of it? Cheer Gill

I use Avi-Drops Multivitamin....but any vitamin supliment should be ok. Some people also use probiotics....both you can get from better pets and gardens or stockfeeds stores.
