I havn't visited here for a while but thought I would see if the chickens I got yesterday from the mundi markets came from anybody here?
I got one young silky pullet, creamy brown with a black head, and a box of six frizzle chicks which are ever so cute. LOL and a gorgeous grey rabbit that is currently wandering around the computer desk:)
I think I need some more silkies:)

Not from me. I am glad you mentioned the Mundi markets as I was wondering if they ran over summer. What time did the poultry auction start? It was around 11 during spring. Did you get her for a good price? WOuld love to see a picture of all your new ones.

Ooooohhh - I was there! I saw those gorgeous silkies! My Dad picked up a couple of sussex trios - and gave me one of the hens! Yay! I go for a look almost every time! (just for a look!) They start the auctions at 11, but do the birds last, normally around 12-ish depending on what else is there!

Could someone tell me about these markets please? Are they animal auctions or is there *stuff* there as well? Are they every month or do they shut down after summer?
Thanks for any info,
Barb.

I used to live in Mundijong about 20 years ago and those markets were going strong then. I have very fond memories about all the animals there. Im glad to see they are still kicking on,

Hi Chookdu, Mundi Markets is on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month. there is usually quite a few chooks ducks and small animals and other birds, they aso have larger animals as well eg sheep, goats etc, but you do need to be registered with some govt organization to bid on these and there is usually quite a bit of regular stuff as well, basically anything that anybody wants to put in the auction, there was even a car up for auction last time I went, if you want to bid for anything, you do need to register at the office prior to the auction. make certain you allow plenty of time to do this as it is quite a slow process, the sundries auction is prior to the poultry auction. but it is definitely a buyer beware with the poultry and if you do purchase anything dont forget to quarantine before you put them in with your existing flock, hopefully might meet up with you there.
