I've been very privileged to be able to purchase a dozen laced wyandotte eggs from a lovely man in nsw who doesnt normally sell his eggs. They are from a gold laced rooster x blue laced silver hen, which will give me 25% blue laced gold, 25% blue laced silver, 25% gold laced and 25% silver laced birds. This will be my first clutch of standard size chickens as all my chookens are bantams. Have decided to scale back my pekins which will free up that pen for the wyandottes. I've got a couple of broody pekins waiting to incubate the eggs for me. Fingers crossed they make it here safely

lol fluffychook, piccies are good coz seeing everyones elses setups gives us ideas but then again seeing other peoples chookens makes us want some of our own lol. Yes I feel very lucky horses7 and hope I can have a good hatch, not only for me but also for the lovely man who parted with those eggs for me. Im popping into town this morning to see if they've arrived yet *fingers crossed*. Mind you Im nervous to open the package, so worried that some might be broken.

The eggs have arrived! I was quite surprised as they were only posted on Wednesday and not being city to city I thought it would've taken longer. Only one egg is cracked, the others look good. So am letting them settle for 24hrs, well probably longer coz I wont be home most of tomorrow (going to gidge show, anyone else going?) so I'll probably set them on Sunday morning.

Hi Steph, best of luck with your hatching.
I fell in love with the Blue Laced Gold Wyandottes the first time I saw them and they are certainly on my wishlist for the future. Looking forward to seeing pics of them.
All the best Ros

Thanks Ros Well, I've set the eggs this morning, so now the countdown begins! I've got 2 of my best broodies, Loretta and Violet, sitting on half a dozen eggs each so fingers crossed all goes well.
