I am going to have a crack at getting some good table birds on the go, I have managed to get a great Indian Game roo and I have a good selection of hens to go through. Plymouth Rock Light Sussex Australorp Buff Orpington New Hampshire I thought I would go with the Rock/ Indian cross first to get a good ROO to work from, then possibly go for Light Suusex cross Indian game as well to get some hens, then go on to crossing them from then on. What are your thoughts guys?

I have read good reviews for the indian/sussex crosss as a meat bird. I would assume that an indian cross with any of the "bulky" birds would do well. Keep us posted with the result of your trials.

HI Mick back a while ago I did the same thing as you are going to do the end result was great my home grown chooks are just over the 2 to 2.1\2 KG on the plate I did put a few photos up at the time and how to dress them I breed about 50 each year and that seem to get us most of the way through the year Don't rush it the idea is to get the taste of the bird in the meat I take around the 26 week mark to do this Good luck Trev

I've got my first batch of Indian Game x Plymouth Rock on the ground so it'll be interesting to see how they grow up

I don't have any photos they're a bit young yet but I can tell you that some have Indian Game legs and some have Plymouth Rock legs so they will probably need breeding amongst themselves to get a uniform chicken
