Is it legal?
Especially when it's an older rooster?
For your own convienence?
Not me (I would never bother) but I DO know someone who is willing to put an agressive rooster under anaethetic and remove his testicles to try and reduce his agressiveness.
Would it even work?
Personally I would have chopped him ages ago......

hens are a lot different to roos I have tried to talk roos around so to speak just a few days ago I have had to separate a roo from his girls he was turning nasty every time I went into the pen he came at me, the only reason I did this was because his dad I had for over 8 years I thought something would have rubbed off on him, he is now back so far its worked he will not get a second chance at being nice Trev

You might try this, when you start to leave pen have a container of water with you , If he shapes up to you wet him down , most poultry hate getting wet Ray
