Hi Ive been a chookie for the last fifteen years and have just moved to the bush and started breeding silkies and light sussex, also have a few ferals as I call them, the genetic strain I have been breeding over the last 15 years, they are very hardy and go clucky easily, my sister has one of my hens and she just went broody in a big box of nails in the shed hee hee, also they are extremely protective of the clutch and attack like crazy, bantam genes mostly, with the addition of next doors fighting rooster, tall thin leggy thing, but extremely colourful with yellow feathers round the neck, I have one of his sons here, lucky he didnt inherit his fathers nasty streak. I have read a few threads on here and it looks like a fantastic forum. ;D cheers

Hi Chickadee Like the sound of your ferals. Are you breeding for colour or what? I played around with some nter-breeding at one stage but found the results so confusing with different colours and even feather types emerging I began to wonder whether some of my original stock was as pure as I thought it was. It is fun, however.
