Ok, I have chickies just about ready to hatch. There was a bit of wobbling last night, and a bit of faint cheeping so silly me has done little else than stare at the incubator! This morning there is still no pipping, but more wobbling and - as usual - I start to stress. What if they don't hatch? What if something has gone wrong? They not actually due until tomorrow and I do this EVERY time and always end up with healthy little chicks at the end - but...... someone tell me I'm not crazy!

I can totally relate to that, if I had an incubator I would probably camp in front of it for the entire 3 weeks ;D so if I tell you you're not crazy I don't know if it has any meaning, because I've got the funny feeling people might think that about me, too but I don't really care ;D ;D good luck and I hope you see your little babies very soon

ikbok don't worry, we do understand. I must admit I have been glued to incubator many times. Now I just candle and wait, life has too many other things to occupy my time. I even finish up sometimes having them hatch on the auto turner.....oops!!!!!!!! So try and stress less, they will be fine.

This hatch that I was soooo convinced was going to be a total flop - turns out to be my first 100% hatch!!! Yay! Lots of healthy little chicks running around! Only one with a slightly off centre beak - but it's able to preen and eat ok so should be fine! ;D Sheesh - you'd think I'd get over it by now Next time I'm sure I'll stress just as much!

It is just as exciting as the first time and we all waste our days when they're due. I'm glad you had such a good hatch rate. Pics??

Will post some pics tomorrow! Sorry! I'll have to take them quickly though, they've all been sold already! They're a mixed bunch too - not even sure who daddy is - speckled or light sussex, so will be an interesting lot! I'll be a bit sad to see them go - especially after all that stressing! Haha! Never mind - clean up the incubator and bung another lot in! More stressing out in about 3 weeks time! ;D Good luck with your hatch Trev!

Trev it should have a plastic grid .I put the eggs on that but but for hatching(day 18 when you stop turning)I lay down the soft plastic/rubber draw non slip with holes in it avaliable at woolworths and discount shops.A few others use that for hatching as well I think.
