Eeek! That doesn't sound good! I spose if they are healthy and not all stodged up, they must be passing it?? I use a red dot plastic storage box. OH cut a hole all around the inside of the lid and replaced it with tough mesh - works a treat! (and they can't eat it!) It's also really easy to clean out - which is a bonus! Hope your chickies are ok and lose their taste for polystyrene!

mmmmm i can't recall exactly but i suspect polystyrene would break down in acid, and so therefore is broken down in the little chickie babes tummies, which is why you are not seeing any comoing out in there poop. its not hte best substance for them to eat as you would know, so maybe these guys need a box made of something other than foam :S :S :S

i did some googling, and i don't think acid itself destroys the stryofoam, but look omega 3 fatty acids do, and they would be present in teh digestive system of a chicken lol its all a bit of a mystery www.youtube.com/watch?v=HzHb6VzQErs
