Who would believe they made it!!!!
The story as it goes.......
We had twelve eggs EGGcuBATING ((yes in my little twelve egg EGGcuBATOR)) we had them in since late December and they were due to hatch into the world on Tuesday 19 January, it always gets a bit EGGsiting as the hatch date draws nearer.
On Sunday 17th January we woke up to NO POWER and discovered it had been off for quite awhile, we checked our eggs and they were cold. Good On Ya Western Power/Synergy!!!!
Hubby tried to sit the eggs under our game bird thinking she was again broody, she sat on them but d**n she only wanted to lay an egg, at 10.30am the power was finally restored and I was taking the kidlets to the pool so off we went. We didn't get home until 3.30 pm and hubby had the eggs back in the EGGcuBATOR, we didn't hold out much hope though as they had not been in the EGGcuBATOR since about 7 am.
Hubby checked them that night for any movement and it didn't look good, Hatch date came and went and usually we have some movement but not this time. Wednesday morning Hubby came in (I was still ZZzzzzzzzz) 3 eggs had cracks, Yippee!!!!
Below are the piccies of some of our MIRACLES we decided that because Sunday was a hot 38' here the eggs were still able to EGGcuBATE, never thought I would say but thank you HOT SUMMER days
Australorpes and Barnevelder chicks
Cheeky little Barnevelder...These ones are in our brooder...
Cheeky Barnevelder and Australorpe
These ones are still in the EGGcuBATOR they only hatched Thursday 21 January..
We are definately glad we didn't give up hope now we have 9 new babies in our feathered family ;D
