Well he's not really a new arrival, as I've had him about 2 months now lol but just havent got around to taking a piccie. So thought it was about time I posted a photo on here for you guys ;D Rodney: He's 8-9 months old. His previous owner handraised him from day old. She purchased him from a breeder in Serpentine with a 20yr bloodline apparently. He's now got a girlfriend, my Light Sussex pullet Rita and will hopefully be joined soon by a barred Plymouth Rock pullet when I can find one

Thanks guys newchook, yes he's a well mannered boy. I do get the occasional peck on the leg when he's feeling cheeky but besides that he's a good boy. He follows me around, on the weekend I was cleaning out his house and he was right in there with me like a site foreman lol, making sure I did a good job

Magnificent specimen of a bird. Looks like he has used his hair products to get such a shiny look.

Yup thats what I'm doin RIR x Light Sussex will give me buff coloured female chicks and RIR x barred Plymouth Rock will give me black female chicks. These crosses are supposed to be fantastic layers and being cross bred are a hardier than purebred strains. In America they produce these birds commercially, they're called Bovan Goldline's and Black Rocks.
