Some of the adverts on the site are very old and seem to be obsolete and there is no response if you reply to them. Why don't adverts have a time limit and then be removed if they have been left and forgotten .

Hi Rap, thanks for your comment. In my own experiences I have found when looking for a specific breed of bird it is like a treasure hunt, the last breed that I aquired it took me 3 years to locate AND purchase some chicks, I look at the old ads as a clue in that treasure hunt, at least they had that breed of bird at some point of time and might still have some or know who had purchased from them and be able to give you another contact. Fair enough they don't always respond to your post but there is usually a contact phone number or their own personal email in the ad as well. If they dont respond to the post in a timely manner then use the other alternative contacts. Recently I lost a rooster of a relative rare breed and phoned from an ad that was posted several months ago, fair enough she didnt still have the breed but gave me the name and phone number of the person that bought her breeding stock. The old ads are sort of a reference of who has or had what and sometimes is a starting point in your search to locate that special bird.

I agree with Judy. Just last week I had a lady contact me chasing frizzled pekins after seeing an old ad of mine online.

Yeh, i agree with Judy. I've got a few wanted adds on the foram and i would like to think that people with eggs for sale would look at who wants to buy as well as putting a for sale notice on the foram. I look at the member profile and can tell how interested that person is by the last time he opened the site. There are a lot who register and never come back to the site though. I also remove my adds when they are obsolete. LOL, Have a great weekend all.
