Hi I've been a member on WAP for a little while and thought I'd introduce myself. I've got 3 light sussex, 2 black australops, 1 blue australorp, 2 peking ducks, 2 dogs, a husband and 3 kids. Think i would like a rooster as well but not sure how the neighbours would like it. We've always had a couple of chooks but am now learning about breeds and love to read all your threads about incubating. Didn't realise it is so involved. Shea

Hi Shea, where is Kalamunda are you, I live near the Kalamunda primary school. The shire discourage having roosters, so at least they are not banned. If you get one that is not too noisy and bothers the neighbours you should be fine. Great to have you here. Tina

Hi Shea, Welcome to WAP. It's a great site isn't it, very informative and everyone is so friendly. If you do decide to get a boy to boss your girls around I have some 7 week old purebred Australorp roosters (blue and splash) who are looking for nice homes. Ros

It is a small world. I am in Geraldton visiting my sister at the moment and would you believe she has heaps of young light sussex chicks. If you are interested in a rooster I could bring one back with me, I leave Wednesday so you will need to let me know before then.
