I sold our four geese and saw them off to a new home where there is a vineyard for them to romp in and a big dam. I tell myself they will be better off because we don't have a dam and although they could roam around the garden they had no space to fly. Felt sad to see them go. I'd had the two males since they were small (and one was supposed to be a female) and the two females since I realised I had two males. While we had them they hatched just one gosling but it was taken by crows. Not having a covered pen to protect the next hatchlings was one of the reason I decided to let them go and concentrate on my chooks and guinea fowl, not to mention the kangaroos. Tomorrow I have to go in and clean out their yard and I know I'm going to miss them.

It is always sad to say goodbye, but as you said they are going to a great home.

Yes, its hard to say goodbye, but you just have to keep reminding yourself that they've gone to a great home where they'll be very happy.
