Last week the chooks were going crazy down the back, my first thought was FOX!!!! so down I charge with shovel in hand hopefully to have a swing at the darn thing, I get down there to find that it wasnt a fox, It was a beautiful peacock strutting just outside the pens showing himself off in full glory, he stayed for a good half hour until his ladylove started calling him from the distant, only found out yesterday where they had come from, apparantly some one about half a mile had bought him and 2 peahens, let them out when they got home and of course they promptly ran away and are now just floating around all the properties in the area.
Then on Sunday when I came home, sitting on my front lawn were a gaggle of geese, these apparently live about 3 properties away and have now decided they like to live on my front lawn and promptly now come every day, waddle around grazing and then have the afternood siesta under the big tree and then about 6.30 -7pm they go out the front gate and waddle off down the street.
And then, this morning when I was sitting at the kitchen table about 6am having a cuppa with OH, the cat started yelling on the back verandah, I thought, stray cat bl****y fighting again with mine. Went out side, cat is arched up on the chair on the verandah but I cant see anything, and was just about to walk back in the door, when this head peered around the corner of the verandah, I thought, DOG!!! So I stormed up to chase it away and guess what it wasnt a dog it was a BL****dy FOX!!! Where is squeak when you need her.
Thank goodness all my chookens were still all tucked up tight in their sheds.
