Well to my surprise, when I went to collect the eggs this morning our lovely Punk Rocker hen has laid her first egg. Well I assume it is hers as she is housed with silkies and pekins and they dont lay eggs like this. Here is a pic for you to see. It is also with an Isa and Ancona egg to see colour and size. Its the blue coloured one.

Do you know where the blue egg shell colour is coming from, is it possibly araucana in the bloodlines?

Have done some asking around on BYP and apparently she could be naked neck or turken crossed with plymouth rock for the feather colours and then araucana for the egg colour. I was told she would lay white eggs. Oh well, exciting anyway. Not sure who to breed her with now. Have silkie, ancona, Indian Game and Coronation rooster.

Well, even though I am a TNN follower, I do have to admit that the showgirls are not the prettiest chooken I have seen, BUT it is a work in progress so there is still some hope that they will get better
