We have one duckling in the ICU still, the egg yolk was not completly absorbed and it is not moving a lot. Not long ago it was loudly cheeping, so Nurse Shelle gave it some sugar water and it went back to sleep. The yolk has gone down since this morning, so maybe it will be ok. I have been amazed at the recovery ability of these ducklings. Literally coming back from the dead.

Just found out that the previous owner had Aylesbury and Bantam Saxony ducks. Well the Aylesbury are white so I don't think that is the cross, so I feel it is the Saxony. So what do you think this little duckling will look like, dark campbell saxony x. Very cute whatever it is...lol

I think it'll be a nice looking duck. Maybe if its a gal it'll have some of the facial markings of a saxony female. Will be very interesting to see how it matures

Sad to say the little duckling in ICU just passed away peacefully. I really thought it was going to make it especially when it pooped. But as was said in another thread, that is part of keeping poultry. The only thing is telling my sensitive little granddaughter. Darn, call me chicken, I will leave it to her mother :-(

Sorry to hear that fluffy. I guess thats something I'll have to look forward to(not) in the not too distant future, telling my lil boy why his favourite new chick/duckling/keet is no longer with us.
