Here's a piccie of a couple of the keets, theyre 2 weeks old today. As you can see in the pic they are really starting to feather up now and losing that 'cuteness' factor lol. They're no longer cheeping like chicks, its a different and quite loud chirping. Went outside late this arvo to check them, after having checked them only a few hours prior, to find one of the keets almost dead. The poor lil thing was stiff, barely breathing and stone cold and was getting trampled by mum and siblings. And of course it had to be one of the two lavenders! So I raced it to intensive care lol and after an hour or so it was able to stand up again and started chirping so it looks like I managed to save the lil one just in time. I've decided to keep the two lavenders and will sell the five pearls. I've just tonight put about 16 or so guinea eggs into the bator so in a months time hopefully I'll have some more lil keets runnin around

Its good to hear that you had saved the little one, Murphys law, if there is one you want to keep, it will always be that one that something happens to it

Too true. It was the same with my silkie chicks, the bearded one had to be the one with splay legs! The lil keet went back with his siblings this morning and seems to be doing well

Great to know that little ones can have a close encounter and recover. Oh by the way, I hate Murphy's Law, I vote that we get rid of it all together...lol

Well sadly I lost that little lavender keet today. Went out to feed them this morning and found him looking quite sickly, took him into intensive care again but unfortunately couldnt save him this time Hopefully I'll get a few lavenders from the next hatch so that I can replace him.

So sorry that you lost him. Sometimes they are just not meant to survive

It is sad when one of your babies goes. But H7 is right, sometimes it is just not meant to be. Hopefully the next batch will have better success.
