What a wild weekend weatherwise. The wind was nuts.
Hopefully everyone came out of it ok.

A power pole must have been damaged somewhere. I hope you did not have a lot of meat in the freezer at the time.

Uep we had only just filled it up half a beast a lamb some home grown ducksand chooks aĺl good for dog food looks like i can only claim 500 of it without receipts as yoi know its hard to find a receipt on a beast in the paddock it will be interesting to see what happens

Good luck with the claim. You may need to invest in a generator for the essential equipment like the coolroom and freezer.

We have the same issue with the power at York. I know we have had black outs because the timer keeps getting out of sync. We the timer set for various bits of equipment and the retic.
Western Power or Horizon just can't get it right. Yet we keep having to pay the service fee even when there is no service??
I am quite sure the situation will be worse when the gov't sells the whole joint to private operators.

Yep agree with that we had a great day yesterday nice and sunny no reason for the power to go out at all when you call they won't tell you why its out and there arr not a lot of us out this way i can see those with the money are going ex grid with sola

Solar is a good alternative if it is more reliable. I have been looking at the storage systems. I have yet to find one that can hold enough power to power the home for a few consecutive days without charging in case of extended cloudy days, etc.
To be totally off grid, you will need a few systems working together, for example a wind turbine working together with a solar system. A huge capital cost to start off with is the biggest barrier.

Yep agree with that chooky after after days of clouds you would heed a good generator to top the system up more expense at the moment its not that good
