OK this is a first for me I have three P/R chicks that are taking there time to feather up they are about two months old now and they have bald bums and along there backs the wings are fully feathered funny looking things anyone had this before

yes chooky there from the last lot of Plymouth Rocks I go in funny goings on one with a foot stuck in its belly now this I must have a bit of in breading going on but thee from two places far apart

They are cockerels, they have an extra slow feathering gene.

check for red mintes m8 if in wood sheds at night they come out /had this 2 years ago /good dust /and hot water spary then mint spary /you should see feathers /and a little vitiam/in water helps the plylmouth rocks are always pulling out there feathers for any reason hope this helps

I have the same thing with some males particularly slow feather breed types like PRs in the spring . I lost two boys night before last ,from just that .Not going under the heat and on a colder night ...getting to cold , dead in the morning . all the others are fuller feathered and don't think they need heat any more - silly birds - had to go up last night and stick some under the light .

yep they have changed, they used to know what they wanted now you have to show them the birds I have that are bald are two months old now should be full of feathers if I only have two roo`s out of the 9 I will be a happy guy lucky its warm now and there old enough to take care of them selves I bet the all cuddle up to the silkys at night anyway
