Trev,
Where will you be moving to? I am sure you can still do similar even with a smaller property. I watched on a youtube, an American family covered every inch of their garden with edibles. They never had to buy any edible plants, eggs or chooks. Fantastic. Very inspiring.
If you are moving anywhere close to York, I am more than happy to share my lambs. If Rammy the ram keeps up his good work, I'll always have more than I need.

Ranger, My friends would say that you have the most ingredient .... wine . I don't drink, so I prefer food to wine. If we are all closer to each other we can do swaps to be even more self sufficient. Personally, I don't have any problems with supermarkets per se, but I don't like the products they sell and they way they try to squeeze the farmers.

Chooky thanks for the offer this is the million dollar question we have looked at Beverley, york, Toodyay, Harvey, waroona, kellerberrin, all the way down the eastern hwy to Perth. We do have another place in Kellerberrin that we own that is rented and she is a great tennent don`t want to put her out, that place is on a Half acre block I can do most things there and get away from it all in the van if we want to. We did just find another place around this town with 4 acres that means we can take the sheep with us along with all the chooks, we wanted to get closer to Perth but I hate the place and if I stay in the country on small acres I get no neighbours that I like. I am spoiled where we are nearest one about 3/4 kms away one side and the other 3kms away still we have to find someone that wants this place first but you have to do your home work along the way nothing set in any direction yet ?

It is always difficult to find the perfect place to call home. We looked at many places before we found this place in York. The place for some reason clicks with us even though it is not the perfect property, needing work. But it just feels right. One of the main benefits is its close to Perth but it feels nothing like Perth.

yep agree with that when we bought this place it took four months to renovate it while we were in the caravan in the sheering shed through the hottest part of summer but its worth it it will be hard to leave the place

Yes, it will be hard to move on after all the work you put into the place. We got this place our potential retirement home. We have time to slowly make it our home.

Trev,
I'll leave another day. I'll rinse it off tomorrow and then lightly cook it on Friday. Then the big taste test, breakfast for the weekend. Looking forward to it. I hope it will taste fantastic.

Just smoked the bacon. One big mistake! I couldn't find a smoker so I used a wok in the kitchen. It works but the whole house smell of smoke at the moment. Mrs Chooky is out at the moment. I am sure she is going to complain when she gets home. I must get a smoker for next time. I just hope that I have not damaged her wok or it's the couch for me!
