It is sad when you come across those sort of things , they would last long up here without water.

That is really sad Trev. I feel sorry for those poor animals that have to live that way because their owners are irresponsible. We had a similar experience when we bought our first Australorps a few years ago. The chicks had no water and later found out that they were diseased as well. While we were their we took it upon ourselves to fill up the waterers as their owners certainly were not going to do it. Probably was not our role to do so but in the middle of summer felt like it was the right thing to do. Never seen so many chicks in my life crowd around one waterer. Very saddening. It is good that you reported them Trev.

When dirt build up in their noses, it is very painful for them. They must feel so much better after being able to clean that out by blowing under water.
Good thing you did, reporting them.

It really fun watching them take to water. I had a duck raised with chicks. It took her a long time to get used to sticking her head in water. It was only after she was integrated with ducks that she got into the pool for a quick bath. She was very confused.
