yep agree with that one annie I lamped the duck eggs last night the blue eggs look verry plain nothing showing I got them for free so no worries the cross breeds are showing 10 out of the dozen full at day 10 if they stay that way I will be happy and the wellsummer eggs out of 12 are showing 9/10 not sure on one of them also happy with that lot now all I have to do is to keep them that way could be good the last bit The wally Roo seems to have settled down and is taking more time doing what he should do Yes I have watched him on a few ocations trev

I candled mine this morning and put new batteries in , 9 Andalusians going mostly from the trio eggs , 1 clear in the faverolle eggs still couldn't see clear enough in the Wellsummer eggs so left kthem all in but I think it is 3 starters . From my own eggs only 1 Australorp clear and the pekin I took out the other day the rest all starters It amazes me how every Indian game egg has been fertile will know on Tuesday if they are hatchable as well.

Is your indian game rooster long legged? The short legged ones usually have issues producing fertile eggs.

Shame about the DIS but at least you have one Australorp. What colour did it turn out to be?

I have always wondered why some DIS if they managed to get to full size. Could the shell be too hard?
CK,
My rooster was long legged though I only managed to hatch a pullet from him. I have seen him mounting the other hens but only got a cockerel. The hens seem to be too big for him. His favourite was an Orpington/Australorp cross. Her eggs have never been fertile for some reason.
Hopefully I'll get a few long legged roosters for producing table birds.

I wonder if the shell is to hard sometimes Chooky. I haven't had chicks for so long having trouble deciding if the Australop chick is black or dark blue . It is with mother hen now , should have taken it's photo. It would be nice if it was blue then I would have a touch of my line back as well as your George CGCB and CKs line
