Hi everyone, Went to the royal today and had a very quick look at the poultry pavilion. Lots of nice birds on display. Some very nice black Australorp's however the blues were disappointing (red flecking, light eyes...) I saw that Linda did very well. I think she got second in the barnevelder pullets.

Yep I have too much on to go this year too , but I have found out that Stuart Perry has Andulasian and had them at the show , the steward gave my wife a contact list . Might finally get that elusive rooster yet.

Not making the show this year. We are currently in China for a holiday. Spent the last few days in Hong Kong. Saw chooks for the first time last night, a pair of silkies wandering the streets which is very unusual because they are prized eating birds over here. Hope to see more birds if I get the chance.

Trev,
So far it has been an enjoyable trip. Today and the next few days, we are rained in, with two typhoons heading our way. So all activities have been suspended. I wish I can shift this rain to WA. It has been raining constantly for 12 hours now and expected to rain for the next 3 to 4 days.

China is an eye opener even though I have been here a few times, though not this city. Visited the local market this morning. Very different to the markets we are used to in Oz. Wish I brought my camera. There were quite a few interesting ducks for sale.

I need to make or buy the proper show transport cages as the ones I use just getting them to Mullewa they get covered in poop and I need to redo their legs etc . Maybe I have had several requests to take my Australorps down to the show and if I can get my Barnevelders back to where they were I would like to show them as there is no class for them up this way.

CK,
Can you use wire bird cages, modified to for chooks? They may be easier to do than to build new cages.

CBCG,
Cooped up indoors today because of the wet weather, the typhoon is expected to hit land tonight. Not too sure what to expect yet. We've had to cancel a trip, hiking up a scenic mountain.
