What is going on with the lower hatch rates this year? It seems quite a few people are getting the same result. The result of the wetter conditions??

i made a mistake with the last lot of silkeys two week before i started to breed i got out the shell grit with silkeys that makes the shells verry hard so i got one hatched and three halfway and stuck and the first black silky i have bread Dead back to the drawing board number one do not feed shell grit before you mate them last year was a bad year for hatching as well i would hope this year was better time will tell lets hope it gets better when it warms up a bit Trev

I had a good hatch rate this season. I don't breed anywhere near as many as you guys but I got 9 Blue and Black Australorps out of10 fertile eggs. Only 1 DIS. CK, unusual you are getting a poor hatch rate. Have you had luck with your R-Com. Usually they are reliable??? Quambie, good luck with your silkies. Often see silkies without the correct colour comb.

That's the one I ran all thought I may have got a little better need to recount the chicks , I had 13 in from D in Gero only 3 hatched so mine did OK I guess I think there are 25 chicks which would make 22 from 35 . there were lots of late DIS .I have the other going at day 13 today all going well in that but the eggs sent from NSW are all blank.
