what a small world we live in "the chook world" I had a call from a guy last night that has some ducks I was interested in, we had talked about me wanting a Rooster for my Silver grey Dorkings this guy had a chat with D in Geraldton ? and told him he new a guy that wanted one, and D told him that he had one so this guy was going to put me in touch with him as he was away up north again it would be later on. I then told him the story he could not believe how i new all about them and him, How strange this chook world is, we are spread out but everyone seems to know everyone and how has what for sale . Cannakid will understand this as for the eggs i got through the post they seem to be ok only lost one at this stage it was cracked . The new bator has not missed a beat steady on 37.6 and 56% humidity now for two weeks even after i put the eggs in it two days ago time will tell Trev

And it's getting smaller. I put some eggs in mine last week and when I candled them there was a cracked egg didn't notice it when I put them in. I've had 2 broodies hatch eggs in the past 3 days one lot was a hidden nest so are cross breds the other are some australorps and a marans RIR cross. D is still having trouble with the marans even the ones he got from me yet mine are doing OK.

I used a sticky tape to cover up a crack and it worked fine. I was worried the chick would have trouble hatching because of the tape but it was all good. The chick managed to unzip around the tape.
