It's lovely, the ground here at sunny downtown Boddington was very hard & parched, untill this morning, when the heaven's opened up & gave us 4 ml's in the last hour, the chook's are running around in it, they are loving it, I do hope every-one else is getting a drop or two as well, ironically I have just moved a few egg's (14) into the incubator tray to hatch out & it look's as if I wont need to adjust the humidity yet, wonderfull..........

depends on when the power comes back on they will be creating dome heat on their own at this stage I had broodies chased off the nest too nights in a row and decided to put the eggs in my incubator and still got 4 to hatch from 6 eggs it will slow down the process so don't turn it off to soon . do you have a genset handy ?

We lost power for over 12 hours once and I had a heap of eggs in the bator. All of them still hatched, just a little bit later than they should have I'm sure you'll still get a normal hatch I LOVE hatch day! ;D As for the rain, we've had a little bit, but I think most of it went around us

I love hatch day too, & it seem's all is not lost after all, I have just arrived home to find 3 new chick's looking at me through the perspex on the bator , there are a couple more that have started piping too, brilliant.. Oh, & the rain has finally stopped...........(For now).

Of the 14 egg's put in the bator, I look's as if 10 have hatched,I cant really tell as there are little fluffy (Some white, some Black) body's scampering in all direction's, with a couple of egg's that have started piping still visible, I am chuffed to piece's at the result's & maybe I can now get some sleep..... ;D Once again, thank's to you all for your wisdom & time.

Hi Shea, glad to hear you had a good hatch rate after 12 hour's, it's all a big learning curve for me & I now know not to stress about it so much, thank fully some of our member's have PM'd me with suggestion's & solution's & without them I think I would have gone crazy (Well, crazier anyway).
