Hi I was very lucky to be given some eggs by annie and I now have a wonderful array of chicks and I'm loving watching them and their antics. They are seven weeks old on drip water and pullet grower with a few greens and the odd bit of fruit loaf. This morning I notice two are lethargic with their wings held low and seem off colour is there anything I can do. They are not wormed yet. The water is from my rain water tank. All ideas / advice welcome.

Weird weather the last month in Perth everything fro 35 to pelting rain but these chicks aren't out in the weather at all and are on clean shavings every few days. What meds do they need and is it from a vet or Stockfeeds. So far honey and garlic haven't helped. Thanks so much for taking the time to answer

I was thinking sulpha 3 from the feed place first as it is cheaper and quicker, but if they are still inside ? the vet is normally more expensive but they can give out stronger meds. not sure what else would cause it . what do there dropings look like if any sign of blood then it would be very eurgent but if not may be just a chill got to a couple. Sorry that it takes awhile to answer I am on the header at the moment. I don't know where the more experienced have gone.

Only a thought, & I know you said they were 7 week's old now but, I had simular thing's happen with a new hatch, are they still huddling up together ? & very vocal ? mine were, & it top's up that they were cold, are they in a cold or windy location, as soon as I put a heat lamp on my chick's they all bucked up, as I said, only a thought. PS, Mine were only about a week out of the brooder.

They are on sulpha3 now and I gave them heat at night along with garlic etc immediately. They are just such an amazing assortment of colours and characters I would hate to loose any. Thanks everyone I think one looks brighter already will keep you posted
