new at this & just wondering if its anything to worry about , one of our 18 week old plymoth rock pullets is getting around with her tail down ,she is paler then the other pullets & is eatting & scratching around like the others just wondering if she is getting sick or not , any info would be appreciated

When was they last wormed? if its pale its getting anemic tail down would also sugest not feeling well could be a number of causes

we have only had them 3 weeks & dont know when they were wormed , so what should we do ?

One of our chicken loving neighbours suggested putting garlic in the drinking water for 24 hour's, & said ; If the problem is worm's then this should do the trick, any comment's are gratefully recieved.

Garlic is more beter for imune defence and colds not so great on worms by itself. there is a number of diferent wormers available some tablet form others are in liquid you can get spot ons and in water. if you only have 3 best get a medium dog wormer /flea spot on and place 2 drops on the skin on back of their neck. That way it will kill any insects that may be on them that you can't see as well then repeat depending on product in 14 days.

Thank-you, Both my partner & myself are very new to keeping chicken's but totaly enjoy their company but sadly, neither of us know enough about them, but looking through the other pages of this fabulous forum we have taken in quite a bit of information. Thank's again........

True to form, our Plymouth Rock's have started to lay at the estimated time, however ,we have only had two egg's from 7 hen's in the past two day's, but we are both delighted & looking forward to more egg's soon............ ;D

They're good chooks and pretty good layers but they go broody fairly often. Enjoy

Thank's Madison, we were going to get a couple of silky hen's as brooder's, but now you say they often go broody I wont bother,however,that's a way off as we dont have our rooster yet.Im assuming you have Plymouth Rock's also.

Madison, we will be interested in purchasing a Plymouth Rock rooster ideally of simular age (21 week's) if you have any in the near future.. ;D

I don't have a rooster at the moment I gave him away because I want to introduce some new blood when I find one. Pity I didn't know before I gave him away you could of had him

Thank's cannakid, I do look on there from time to time, at the moment we are looking at moving to our new block we have bought down here in sunny Boddington ,so, it may have to wait untill we get a little more established & sorted.............
