have plenty of cool fresh water spray areas of soil under the shade to be damp............the birds will dustbathe in this to keep cool on particularly hot days you can go out and spray their legs, not tehir whole body (the temperature diffe can put them into shock) but spraying their legs helps them to cool down just a few things off the top of my head

I do all of the above The only other thing I can think of is that I put more than one water container down. Mine like to stand in it (doesn't take long to get all yuck!) and also means that some of the less dominant chooks are still able to get water regularly I do have a small sprinkler that I'll put on for about half an hour in the arvo if it's really hot.

I have seen where they love cold watermelon cut in half, ( if I ever have some to spare, no likely ) also freezing ice cream containers of water and set up a big dish. I love the other suggestions there seems to be many ways to cool down our chooks, thanks. Ray
